Conference: Gangs and Trafficking in Central America

The Ridgway Center will host a conference entitled "Gangs and Trafficking in Central America" beginning at 9 a.m., Friday, October 23 at the William Pitt Union Assembly room. The conference will explore the relationship between governance in the region and the prevalence and expansion or of the Maras (gangs).

The conference will consist of four panels including: (1) Governance in the Northern Triangle, (2) The Nature of the Gangs, (3) Gangs, Drugs, Cities and Prisons, and (4) Round-table Discussion of what can be done.
